Scuba Diving Training
Any scuba diving enthusiast will tell you that it is the most exciting and rewarding of pastimes. But excitement usually comes with risk, and the underwater nature of the sport means that proper training is vital. Here at scubadex we are committed to bringing you information on accredited diving schools in all territories. We invite you to take responsibility for undergoing comprehensive training which will ensure an enjoyable and safe diving experience. Any good school or training centre will usually include the following:
Theory
There will be a certain amount of theory that you will need to get a handle on when training to scuba-dive. You'll need to learn about the underwater environment and how to properly respect it. This includes ecological aspects such as how to leave aquatic life and terrain undisturbed, and the right protocol. There are important safety aspects such as how to deal with the effects of pressure, and the biological relationship of the gases that you breathe. You will learn also how to how to plan and monitor dives in order to get the best from your experience. Getting the right equipment is essential to the sport and you'll learn which are the important considerations when selecting your own or rental scuba diving equipment.
Confined Water Dive Training
Practical training will take place at first in a swimming pool. The pool is where you will first learn how easy it is to breathe underwater. You'll learn how to use the scuba equipment to achieve neutral buoyancy, how to share air with other divers in case of a problem and how to clear the pressure from your ears and empty the water from your mask while underwater. You'll be taught how to use your fins correctly; even the correct methods to get into and out of the water! It's all good fun and very important for your safety.
Open Water Dive Training
After gaining your pool experience it will be time to get to grips with reef and marine life! The real joy of scuba diving is to be found in the sea and you'll have an opportunity to practice the skills you've learned while cruising the bottom. Scuba certification is usually awarded once you have completed four dives over a minimum of two days, and then you'll be free to indulge in your new obsession!
