Scuba Diving Holidays In South Pacific
On the Pacific Rim you will find another world underwater - alien fishes, coral landscapes and
wartime wrecks combine to make up and unforgettable experience
The south pacific islands are famous throughout the world for their stunning beauty so it is no surprise their diving is reputedly some of the very best in the world. Temperatures range between 25c and 30c and there is a wealth of exotic marine life including diving amongst turtles, sharks, rays and even whales. There are also stunning coral formations, walls and drop offs.
As with the Caribbean Scuba diving is one of the South Pacifics main attractions so scuba dive operators can be found throughout the area although not as prevalent as those in the Caribbean the standard is generally excellent and most speak good English.
Fiji and Tahiti are probably amongst the most famous of the groups of islands and are also where a large number of the scuba dive resorts are and live aboard charters originate from, with Fiji benefiting from a huge reef surrounding it which means calm seas and excellent visibility however the diving throughout the whole of the South Pacific is excellent.
Due to the warmth of the water in the region diving is always a pleasure and primary due to the water temperature there is an enormous diversity of marine life including Hammer head sharks, manta rays, and an abundance of tropical fish. The area is also famous for its deep holes and caves to explore for the more advanced scuba diver as well as a large number of wrecks.
Probably the only down side of the region is the distance between the various islands and to cover this live aboards are a good alternative to having a single base on one of the islands.
The South Pacific has some serious competition in the world of warm water tropical diving but undoubtedly holds it's own and has a wealth of dive sites for all standards of scuba diver including some excellent sites to learn, but anyone who learns here bears the risk of all their future dives being a bit of a let down.
