The area is also renowned for its many ship wrecks many if which have been broken up by heavy storms. Bermuda’s government aggressively protects both the coral and the wrecks,

Diving Sites

The huge selection of shipwrecks can be overwhelming for the diver, but the most famous is the Constellation, which inspired Peter Benchley's book The Deep. The others wrecks range from passenger liners to old wooden sailing ships, which include the Marine Celestia, a Confederate warship and Bermuda’s largest, wreck Crystal Colon. Bermuda's newest wreck is the purposefully sank Xing Da, which was a Chinese ship caught bringing illegal immigrants into the US.
