Scuba Diving Holidays In Africa |
This great continent offers a wonderful variety of scuba diving,
from the northernmost locations of Tunisia and Egypt, to the far southern seas of the Seychelles.
Africa is a huge continent and hence the range of diving is unrivalled from Warm Waters of the Mediterranean and Red sea the cold waters of the Atlantic and everything inbetween. It has some of the best known dive resorts in the world and some that are only now being recognized as world class.
Egypt in the north of the region has for many years been a magnet for scuba divers with it’s excellent year round temperatures and low cost of diving, especially those looking for their first experience of the wonders of the under water world, unfortunately due to the huge number of scuba divers who arrive each year the reefs, as well as being over crowded have started to deteriorate significantly, fortunately there are still some excellent wreck dives available for the more experienced scuba diver.
The south east cost of Africa was for many years an undiscovered gem and hence has none of the problems associated with Egypt, with a wealth of breathtaking beaches, coral reefs and exotic marine life on offer including barracuda, whale sharks and moray eels. Parts of the area have been a nature reserve since the seventies and are virtually untouched.
South Africa is another area which has been famous for some time for its diving, mainly for the undoubted thrill of diving with sharks, South Africa’s Cape Town Coast is where you can gain this once in a lifetime experince cage diving with the great white shark, although the temperatures are significantly lower this is one outing not to be missed.
